Mạnh Ninh, a college student, was left with a stable job, a multipurpose house, and a younger brother, after his father passed away. However, outside forces were eager to take advantage of his vulnerable state, including a scheming cousin and a malicious step-aunt. Feeling overwhelmed, Mạnh Ninh began to consider marrying... a capable and successful man in order to secure his future.

In the meantime, Hàn Cánh, struggling to care for her three-year-old daughter after her husbands affair, enlisted the help of her brother, sister-in-law, and parents. During a holiday visit to her hometown, she discovered her daughters frostbite scars and ragged clothing, and felt the need to find a compassionate stepmother.

Mạnh Ninh inadvertently sabotaged Hàn Cánhs arranged marriage meeting, and offered herself as a replacement. She anticipated caring for Hàn Cánhs daughter and earning a steady income without having to meet frequently with her new husband. Despite Hàn Cánhs initial skepticism, her assessment of Mạnh Ninhs abilities proved correct, and she soon became the loving stepmother of their new family.
